Negotiating Logic Programs

چکیده
Negotiation between two agents is modelled as a one-time encounter between two extended logic programs. Each offers an answer set. Their mutual deal can be regarded as a trade on their answer sets. An agent can achieve this by weakening its program to surrender some literals that conflict with the offer of the other agent. We examine how ways of weakening affects the answer sets, and how they may be used to effect a deal. They are shown to satisfy the classificatios of outcomes that follow from known postulates for rational negotiation.

ASP-Prolog for Negotiation among Dishonest Agents
This paper describes a platform to develop negotiating agents, whose knowledge and rules of behavior are represented as Abductive Logic Programs. The platform implements a flexible negotiation framework. Negotiating agents can operate with multiple goals and incomplete knowledge, and dynamically modify their goals depending on the progress of the negotiation exchanges. Differently from other fr...
متن کاملOn the Church-Rosser and Coherence Properties of Conditional Order-Sorted Rewrite Theories1
In the effort to bring rewriting-based methods into contact with practical applications both in programing and in formal verification, there is a tension between: (i) expressiveness and generality—so that a wide range of applications can be expressed easily and naturally—, and (ii) support for formal verification, which is harder to get for general and expressive specifications. This paper answ...
متن کاملAn Abductive Logic Programming Architecture for Negotiating Agents
In this paper, we present a framework for agent negotiation based on abductive logic programming. The framework is based on an existing architecture for logic-based agents, and extends it by accommodating dialogues for negotiation. As an application of negotiating agents, we propose a resource-exchanging problem. The innovative contribution of this work is in the definition of an operational mo...
متن کاملDesign and Implementation of Intelligent Negotiating Agents in E-Commerce Based on a Combined Strategy Using Genetic Algorithms as well as Fuzzy Fairness Function
In order to be successful in multi-agent electronic negotiating environments, intelligent agents should be capable of adapting their negotiation strategies and tactics so that they can achieve an agreement with optimized profit. In this paper, some findings are going to be shown in which negotiating intelligent agents in electronic commerce start negotiating using a simplified standard protocol...
متن کاملNegotiating Trust on the Grid
Grids support dynamically evolving collections of resources and users, usually spanning multiple administrative domains. The dynamic and crossorganizational aspects of Grids introduce challenging management and policy issues for controlling access to Grid resources. In this paper we show how to extend the Grid Security Infrastructure to provide better support for the dynamic and cross-organizat...
